On Sunday, Oct. 20, Kensington Sinfonia launches into another realm with the ethereal sounds of Broxson, brought to life by percussionist Chris Sies in "Saturn, still returning."
This exciting concert also features students from the Central Memorial Strings program performing Calgary composer Donovan Seidle's newest piece, "Wildies," an ode to the wild horse bands that roam freely across Alberta.
The program continues with "Klezmer Dances" by Calgary composer Daniel Pelton, inspired by Shostakovich’s iconic String Quartet No. 8, Missy Mazzoli’s groundbreaking "Enthusiasm Strategies," and Cris Derksen’s powerful "White Mans Cattle," a chilling commentary on Alberta's history.
Tickets are $35 each, with free admission for students under 18, and are available online through Eventbrite.
