Calgary's Trombone Day to celebrate International Trombone Week

This is Calgary's 8th annual "Slide Into Spring: Calgary's Trombone Day to celebrate International Trombone Week."

We are thrilled that our Slide Into Spring #virtualedition2021 will feature some great local talent and we will also welcome Peter Sullivan, principal trombone of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and on faculty of Duquesne and Carnegie Melon Universities, to chat with James Scott and David Reid of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra.  

Carsten Rubeling of the Foothills Brass and Volk welcomes Alastair Kay to converse about his storied career spanning decades and highlighted by recordings with the Boss Brass, True North Brass and teaching at Humber College.

The online event will conclude with a streamed concert featuring local players of all ages and levels as well as special guests from Belgium - The "Crossbones Trombone Collective".
