Mountain View Festival and Rise Up Weekends present Mozart's Piano Concerto K.415 in C major performed by Jocelyn Zhou, piano. The program also features the Dumka movement of Dvorak's piano quintet in A major. 

Featuring: Diane Lane and Laura Reid, violin; Michael Bursey, viola; Olena Kilchyk, cello.

The Mountain View Chamber Ensemble is well known to Calgary audiences, through their involvement in the CPO, Kensington Sinfonia, Mount Royal and many other chamber organizations.Laura Reid can also be heard as the host of Unprocessed on CJSW 90.9 FM.

ABOUT JOCELYN

Nine year old Jocelyn Zhou began her music education at Yamaha Music School with a true show of passion at the age of four. She started formal piano lessons at the age of six and is currently the student of Ms. Kathleen van Mourik. She also studies composition with Canadian composer Christine Donkin. Jocelyn has also participated in masterclasses and piano lessons with Professor Mark Anderson, Professor Jacques C. Després, Professor Charles Foreman, and Dr. Corey Hamm.

Jocelyn has won several classes and scholarships for piano performance and composition in festivals and competitions. Recent achievements include first place in the Canadian Music Competition (2021), first place in the Alberta Provincial Music Festival for Solo and Concerto classes  (2021), Gold Award in the Steinway Piano Competition (2021), and honorable mention in Steinway Piano Competition - U.S. and Canada Nationals (2020).

Jocelyn is also a good swimmer and has won competitions in her club. Besides her music studies, she enjoys horse-riding, hiking, camping, and reading.
