A Celebration of Music by Black Composers III features the UCalgary String Quartet and the newly appointed University of Calgary, Piano faculty member, Dr. Jani Parsons.
This concert is the third concert in a series which features music by Black composers. The series was initiated in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. The featured composers in this concert are the Jamaican composer Eleanor Alberga, the English composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and the American composer William Grant Still.
The featured musicians are Edmond Agopian, violin, Isaac Willocks, violin, Dean O’Brien, viola, Beth Root Sandvoss, cello, and Jani Parsons, piano.

William Grant Still – Incidental music from The Prince and the Mermaid for string quartet
Eleanor Alberga – String Quartet No. 2 ( 1994)
Samuel Coleridge-Taylor – Quintet in G Minor for Piano and Strings (1893)
