Joyful music presented with the inspiring energy of the future stars of Calgary’s Classical scene, Calgary’s original string ensemble Kensington Sinfonia will include the talented string students from Amici Strings Program collaborating with the Sinfonia’s musicians. This is the first performance for Kensington Sinfonia as a full-sized ensemble since 2020.
The concert will feature Introduction and Allegro by Edward Elgar, Little Suite for String Orchestra by Harry Somers, “Great” Fugue in G minor by J.S. Bach, and more.
This concert will also introduce Kensington Sinfonia’s two new Artistic Directors - Genevieve Micheletti and Andrea Case.
The Amici String Program provides numerous opportunities for students to excel, both musically and personally. High standards of playing are expected, and all students have access to fine teaching from local, national, and international artists.
Kensington Sinfonia featuring Amici String Ensemble will take place on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Stephen's Anglican Church (1121 14 Avenue SW, Calgary).
