The concert will feature new works by modern-day composers, and will include UCalgary SCPA Music faculty and student performers: Jeremy Brown (saxophone), Jani Parsons (piano), Lucie Jones (baroque flute), Edmond Agopian (violin), and Isaac Willocks (violin).
The evening will begin with the premiere of Keith Hamel’s Fever, for saxophone with interactive video and electronics. Also on the program will be Sean Ferguson’s Bean Dubh A’Gleanna, for baroque flute and electronics, Imaginary Pancake by composer and environmentalist Gabriella Smith, and the Sonata for Violin and Piano by the Sri Lanka-born Canadian composer and Juno award winner, Dinuk Wijeratne.
