The Calgary Connection

Benjamin Narvey, lute

Lutenist, Benjamin Narvey (originally from Calgary, now lives and works in Paris) presents music by the two leading lute composers of the high-baroque era: Robert de Visée and Sylvius Leopold Weiss. This music will “connect” Calgary listeners to the splendour of the courts of Dresden and Versailles.

This online concert will premiere on Sunday, September 27, 2020. Both the Pre-concert talk and the Concert will premiere at 7:00 pm so those of you who wish to watch the Pre-concert video can enjoy the concert immediately afterwards.

The Early Music Voices Concert Society in Calgary presents local and touring artists performing music from the medieval, renaissance and baroque periods. This year may look different in many ways, but it will still be filled with early music.
