Constantinople is a musical ensemble based in Montréal that draws inspiration from all sources and aims for distant horizons. Inspired by the ancient city illuminating the East and West, Constantinople was founded in 1998 in Montreal by its artistic director, Kiya Tabassian.
On April 24th, Early Music Voices will stream a film created by Constantinople with music written by Kiya Tabassian. The text, created by Hélène Dorion and sung by soprano Suzie LeBlanc, takes its inspiration from interviews with elderly residents of Montreal's long-term care homes. Though conceived in 2016, this project has become even more meaningful, as it was completed during COVID times. The film entitled Le temps des forêts, will be in French with English subtitles.
