ProArts presents WHO CARES?

Who Cares? is a music collective formed in 2020 between violinist Laura Reid and flutist Jiajia Li. With similar training backgrounds in classical music, the aim of the project was originally to provide personal and musical support for each other during the pandemic while searching for new ways to present classical and contemporary music, and to connect with fellow musicians and music lovers through livestreams and videos. The duo has released two albums on Bandcamp; their music videos have reached thousands of viewers online. 

For this concert, 6 living composers from diverse backgrounds have come together to create a program that pushes the boundaries of traditional organ music. Each composition is a testament to the organ’s timeless grandeur, skillfully exploring its vast tonal palette to craft sound worlds that embrace the spirit of the modern age while honoring the rich heritage of the king of instruments.
