Please join us for an evening of song, speech, and chamber music inspired by the human voice, all performed by members of our esteemed MRU Conservatory faculty. The repertoire on this program includes two works by composers with strong Calgary connections: "Shelter" for narrator and two percussionists by Veronika Krausas (performed by narrator Arlene Irwin and percussionists Chris Sies and Nia Devetzis), and "Chant for Peace" for cello and piano by the Conservatory's very own Peter Jancewicz (performed by cellist Beth Root Sandvoss and the composer on piano). The program also features selections for voice and piano performed by singers Andrea Hill and Alyssa Durnie with Oksana Yaremchuk on piano, as well as Franz Liszt's virtuosic take on Verdi, "Paraphrase de Concert sur Rigoletto", performed by pianist Emilio de Mercato.
