Grand Prize winner of the International Steppingstone Competition (Professional Division under the Canadian music competitions) and winner of the Canada Yamaha Prize, Jeanette Lin received her music degrees from the Royal College of Music in London, the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, and the University of Toronto.
During her studies, she won numerous awards including: the Hopkinson Gold Medal for her outstanding achievement, given by HM the Queen Mother. In 1991, she was presented to and performed for HM Queen Elizabeth II. In the same year, she won the grand prize in the Amy Brant National Pianoforte Competition in Birmingham, England, now known as the Birmingham International Pianoforte Competition.
Jeanette has performed with many orchestras and musicians from across the world, including cellist Yo-Yo Ma.
