The Celebration of Music by Black Composers concert is uniquely dedicated to Black composers who have made, and continue to make, tremendous contributions to Western Classical music. The program also sheds light on the creativity of 19th and 20th century Black composers who, despite racism and oppression, were able to excel as composers.
