For those who have a deep appreciation for music, there's no better way to bid farewell to the old and welcome the new than joining Calgary's professional chamber choir, Luminous Voices, for their popular New Year’s Eve concert. A beloved annual tradition, "A Luminous New Year's Eve" is back in its 9th year, promising an evening of sublime music and luminous festivities that are sure to create lasting memories.
Under the masterful direction of Artistic Director Timothy Shantz, the choir will captivate the audience with a stunning array of unaccompanied works. The programme features works by renowned composers such as Mendelssohn, Debussy, Saint-Saëns, Rautavaara, as well as contemporary works by Bobby McFerrin and Billy Joel. The evening will also showcase two captivating compositions: "Rise Up, My Love" by Laura Hawley and "I am the Rose of Sharon" by Ivo Antognini, both featured in the Luminous Voices’ newly released album, Ispiciwin.
